Step into the role of winemaker for the day at our annual 1840 Blending Party, an exclusive experience for 1840 Club members.

Each table of eight will be equipped with blending tools and four distinct wines to craft a signature blend. Collaborate, experiment, and refine your creation as your team competes to produce the most compelling wine blend of the day.

Entries will be evaluated by Executive Winemaker Dr. Bob Young and General Manager Jennifer Cernosek. The two top-scoring teams will earn an invitation to an intimate, chef-paired wine dinner at Bending Branch—an experience reserved for our most inspired blenders.

Each educational seminar features a 30-minute guided tasting of our award-winning champion wines, perfectly paired with small bites from local culinary experts, followed by a 15-minute Q&A with the winemaker and winery representatives. Relax in a private tented setting as you journey through the story of wine—from grape to glass—and gain insider knowledge you won’t find anywhere else.

Dr. Bob Young will be featured at the February 21 & 22 sessions. Bending Branch Winery was awarded Best of Herd Texas Winery and Best of Show Texas Red at the recent international wine competition.

This March, as we honor Colon Cancer Awareness Month, Foods That Heal invites you to a culinary experience infused with meaning, science, and hope. Chef Elizabeth Johnson and the Pharm Table team will curate a stunning menu highlighting the natural healing properties of whole, anti-inflammatory foods—each course celebrating the spectrum of blues that symbolize colon cancer awareness.

Paired with exceptional wines from Bending Branch Winery and insights from Dr. Bob Young and Dr. Michael Wargovich, this evening blends education, flavor, and purpose. Together, we shine a light on early detection, prevention, and ThriveWell Cancer Foundation's commitment to supporting patients throughout their cancer journey.

Proceeds benefit ThriveWell Cancer Foundation helping support cancer patients in San Antonio and beyond.

Quarterly Reading guests will have the option to pre-order a selection of boxed meals from High’s Café. Orders must be placed by 8 a.m. March 6, and orders will be delivered to Bending Branch Winery at 5 p.m. before the event.

This curated experience invites guests to explore the character, craftsmanship, and nuances that define the 2019 vintage, straight from the hands and hearts behind the wines.
